The official version of the Iowa Court Rules is published by the Legislative Services Agency at the direction of the Iowa Supreme Court. They cover rules of practice and procedure, judicial administration, bar admission and conduct, and judicial qualification and conduct. Iowa district courts no longer have general published local rules. (See Tim Eckley, So Long Local Rules: We (Some of Us) Hardly Knew Ye, 78 IOWA LAW. 14 (March 2018).)
In 2002 the Iowa Court Rules were renumbered. The new court rule numbers contain a decimal point; the old did not. If you have a reference to an old court rule, you may want to consult a Table of Corresponding Rule Numbers to help determine where the rule was moved to in 2002 when the renumbering occurred.
The conduct of Iowa lawyers and judges is governed by Iowa Court Rules. The Iowa Rules of Professional Conduct are set forth in Chapter 32 and are also available on the web. The Iowa Code of Judicial Conduct is set forth in Chapter 51.
