Microsoft Office Shortcuts & Tips: PowerPoint Designer

What is Designer?

Microsoft Office 365 users automatically have access to PowerPoint Designer, a tool that allows you to create professional looking presentations using automatically generated design ideas based on the text you enter. All Drake University students can download and install Microsoft Office 365 office for free.

Using Designer on a PC

1. After opening PowerPoint, from the top toolbar select Design > Designer.

2. When the Designer toolbar opens on the right side of the screen you can select a style, OR enter text on your slide and  and wait for the Designer toolbar to reload with styles and images that match your text. 

3. The initial selection you make will apply some design elements, like a consistent font, to subsequent slides, but as you enter text on each slide, Designer will continue to offer you images to accompany your text.

Using Designer on a Mac
