Regulatory Process: Topic Five

Practical Applications

  • Use the A-Z index to find a federal agency of interest. Click on its website.
  • See if the site offers any information about FOIA. You may want to search for that term in any available site search box or check the links in menus or the footer.
  1. Note the agency you selected and describe what kind of FOIA information it provided. Note the URL of the main FOIA page on the site. If there did not appear to be a main page, note a page you found helpful.
  • Open the link to the Iowa Public Information Board Public Records page.
  • Use the FAQ section to answer this question:
  1. How soon does a public agency have to provide access to its minutes?
  1. Click on the CPSC link.
  1. State two products that have been recalled in the last year and give the manufacturer and the reason for the recall.
  2. What was the total amount of the CPSC budget request for FY18?

Hint for Parts C-F: Click on the NRC Library (not the electronic reading room). Open the Document Collections link. The Three Mile Island information was published as a fact sheet. (At first it may appear there are no fact sheets, click the heading again to see the available files.)
