SuperSearch provides access to many full-text online materials and all of the Drake libraries print holdings. For print materials, SuperSearch indicates whether Law or Cowles owns an item, its location and call number, and if it is checked out or on the shelf.
Search for journal articles from the main or advanced interface or by clicking the Journal Finder link.
See the library's SuperSearch guide for instructions and tips, including how to find an article by citation.
Government documents are official publications issued by the U.S. federal government. Most U.S. government documents owned by the Law Library are housed on the north end of the lower level and are organized by SuDoc number (an alpha-numeric classification system that arranges materials by issuing agency). A significant number are also available on microfiche in the microform room, also on the library’s lower level.
The University of Iowa serves as the regional depository library for the state, which means they receive all U.S. government documents that are issued through the Federal Depository Library Program, and they catalog most of these documents in depth. Some government documents that Drake owns are not listed in the catalog, so it can sometimes be helpful to search the University of Iowa catalog to determinte the SuDoc call number for the item you are seeking. Then you can use that SuDoc number to check the shelves and see if Drake owns the item. Please ask library staff if you'd like assistance.
